Beartown State Park
Follow this wooden boardwalk through the enchanted coves carved from limestone when the great ancient seas rose up and the tops of these mountains were islands! Many stairs but walkable, and a must see! Very close to the wedding venue, right off of 219 (Seneca Trail).
Droop Mountain Battlefield State Park
Easily accessible lookout tower and playground on the eastern side and another lookout on the west side with beautiful hiking trails. Also some civil war history.
Cranberry Glades Boardwalk
Gorgeous boardwalk (no stairs) through a cranberry bog atop Kennison mountain. About a 30 minute drive from Hillsboro. Reminiscent of Wisconsin yet entirely West Virginia. A great peek into a unique ecosystem. Take 219 North to 39. Go left and continue up the mountain until you see the sign.
The Falls at Hills Creek
Three giant waterfalls and lots of stairs. A must see for the area! Five miles west of the Cranberry Mountain Nature Center.
