We’re getting married!

Rob and I met the old fashioned way… on a dating app called Hinge. Rob messaged some cheesy pick up line about my eyes and shockingly enough, it was good enough for me to agree to a first date! We met at Katy Trail Ice House on a Thursday night. Rob figured out very quickly that I’m terrible with directions, so he had to come find me and lead me to our table. I was starving (I had just woken up from a night shift and got ready for the date), but when I asked what he was eating he said he wasn’t hungry. I thought to myself, “that’s strike one”. We ordered summer beers and I insisted on getting some of their famous cheese fries. Our first date lasted over four hours. There was an instant connection and we never stopped talking. Rob even asked me on a second date while we were still on our first date! After our date, Rob gave me a side hug and didn’t walk me to my car (in the dark in Dallas). I thought to myself “ok, that’s strike two”. I walked to my car and got in, I had a text message from him with instant regret. I’m so glad he didn’t strike out that night because each date got better and better. Rob would bring me coffee before my night shift and hang out for just an hour before I went to work. We had been dating for just a month when we had to endure the ice storm together. We drove back from Houston going about 25 miles per hour, Rob’s apartment flooded, and my car was useless on the ice. Rob drove me to and from my night shifts for a week straight. I knew early on that Rob was the one because of how kind he is, how he interacts with his friends, and how much fun we had when we were together. I’m so thankful for Hinge and Katy Trail Ice House cheese fries for bringing us together!
