La Rambla – The famous walking street lined with shops, cafés, and markets. La Boqueria Market – Grab fresh fruit juice, tapas, and people-watch. Parc de la Ciutadella – A peaceful break from the city with gardens, fountains, and even a little lake.
Seville Cathedral & La Giralda – Iconic Gothic cathedral with an impressive bell tower offering panoramic city views. Real Alcázar – Stunning royal palace with intricate Moorish architecture and lush gardens. Fun fact: this is the filming location for Dorne in Game of Thrones! Metropol Parasol (Las Setas) – Modern architectural marvel with a rooftop walkway and panoramic city views. Plaza de España – Grand semi-circular plaza with tiled alcoves representing all Spanish provinces; a must for photos. Torre del Oro – Historic watchtower near the river. Check if they still have fresh strawberry mojitos at the tiendo next to it and let Alise know! Flamenco Show – Experience authentic Andalusian flamenco at intimate tablaos like Casa de la Memoria or La Carbonería.
Palma: Palma Cathedral (La Seu) – Iconic Gothic cathedral overlooking the sea. Train to Soller - one of our favorite cities we stayed in Mallorca Deia & the Northwest Coast: Valldemossa – Charming mountain town on the way to Deia. El Olivo – Romantic dinner spot with unforgettable views. Ca’s Patró March – Cliffside restaurant by the sea; reservations recommended. Port de Sóller – Scenic bay lined with beachside cafés. Banyalbufar – Picturesque village perched on the mountainside with terraced vineyards and stunning coastal views. Cala d'Or: Calo des Moro – A beautiful hike with stunning views, leading down to a hidden beach. Cala Llombards – Classic postcard-perfect beach, often featured in photos of Mallorca. Major Cities Madrid – Spain’s vibrant capital; known for world-class museums like the Prado, bustling plazas, and lively nightlife. Great for art, culture, and tapas. Gibraltar – British territory at Spain’s southern tip; see the famous Rock, Barbary apes, and you can easily pop over to Morocco for a day trip. Day Trips / Nearby Towns & Regions Toledo – Just an hour from Madrid, this historic city is known for its medieval architecture, winding streets. Montserrat – Mountain retreat near Barcelona; visit the famous monastery and enjoy spectacular rock formations and hiking trails. Costa Brava – Beautiful coastline with crystal-clear waters and charming seaside towns; special to Alise and Rob as their first date spot. Ideal for beach days and scenic drives.
