We were both attempting online dating when we met. We matched when we both swiped yes because of nerdy pictures involving Disney/Star Wars and anime on each other's profiles. While the exact date we first matched online is under debate and lost to time, we first exchanged number on January 4th, 2022. The first time we heard each other's voice was January 13th at around 10:30 pm when Nickole made an accidental butt dial. We talked for over an hour which quickly became a nightly tradition. On our first date both of us were extremely nervous but ultimately didn't want to night to end. There were some concerns over the 48 miles between us but after a few dates and talking every day, we decided to make things official on February 16th, 2022. From there we did alternate weekends at each other's houses so neither of us had to do all the traveling. We quickly became each other's support and learned that there are still good people out there. We found ourselves feeling like everything fit perfectly with us and everything felt both new and like it had always been.

We were at Disneyland in May of 2024 for Nickole's birthday weekend. Unbeknownst to Nickole, Robert had plan to ask her the most important question of his life. Robert's nervousness rose as one opportunity after another fell through. On our last night as we waited in line to take pictures in front of the castle, Robert walked up to a Photopass Cast Member and secretly told him his plan to propose and asked if they could follow up to a quiet, more private place. After our castle pictures they lead us over the Snow White's Wishing Well, a place Nickole often wished to find her prince charming. Nickole felt Robert's anxious energy all of a sudden and thought, could it really be happening? And yes, it was! Robert told Nickole that since entering his life that his life had felt like a fairytale. Robert got down on one knee and asked Nickole to marry him and she said yes!
