Things To Do

Welcome to our home! We’re so glad you’ll get to experience a place that means so much to both of us. The Shiers family has lived in Washington for nearly a century, and Robby has spent time living here and exploring the region — especially coffee shops. Whether you're hoping to hike, eat, explore historical spots, or even take a drive up to (or across) the border, we’ve put together some recommendations to help guide you. If you’re looking for something specific — or nothing here quite clicks — don’t hesitate to reach out to Sarah, Robby, or any of the Shiers.

Seattle Waterfront

Seattle, WA

An easy trip from Bremerton by ferry, the waterfront has a little bit of everything — the aquarium just opened a beautiful new expansion, Pike Place is always a fun stop, and you’re close to the Space Needle and other iconic Seattle landmarks. Just be sure to check the ferry schedule ahead of time so you don’t miss a boat.

Saboteur Bakery

2110 East 11th Street, Bremerton, WA 98310

Hands down our favorite bakery ever. Everything is made fresh that morning, so the selection is limited — and it goes fast. Expect a line (totally worth it), and get there early if you can. Coffee options are simple but solid.

Hound + Bottle

2109 East 11th Street, Bremerton, WA 98310

A local favorite and a fun little date spot we’ve loved — cozy vibe, creative menu, and a great place to slow down and enjoy something delicious to eat (or drink!) close to home.

Jimmy John's

304 Park Avenue, Bremerton, WA 98337

Our go-to lunch spot. It’s a Jimmy John’s — need we say more? Fast, familiar, and exactly what you expect. It does get a little hectic during the lunch rush, so plan accordingly if you're on a schedule.

Anthony's at Sinclair Inlet

20 Washington Avenue, Bremerton, WA 98337

A classic spot for fresh, local seafood with a great view of the water. It’s a sit-down place with all the Pacific Northwest favorites

Bloedel Reserve

7571 Northeast Dolphin Drive, Bainbridge Island, WA 98110

A beautifully designed walk through gardens, woods, and open meadows. It’s a great excuse to hop over to Bainbridge, whose downtown is full of spots to eat, shop, and wander.

Port Townsend

Port Townsend, WA

A charming coastal town with Victorian architecture, salty air, and plenty of places to wander, grab a bite, or poke around in little shops.

Olympic National Park

3002 Mount Angeles Road, Port Angeles, WA 98362

If you’ve got a free day and want to soak in some serious Pacific Northwest beauty, this place has it all — mountains, rainforest, and beaches, all in one. It’s a bit of a drive, but absolutely worth it if you’re up for the adventure.

Victoria, British Columbia (via Port Angeles)

Victoria, BC, Canada

If you’ve got an extra day or two, this makes for a fun little international adventure. Start with a drive to Port Angeles (a cute stop on its own), then hop on the ferry to Victoria, where you’ll find gardens, harbors, tea spots, and a whole lot of Canadians. Just don’t forget your passport — and definitely book your ferry ahead of time.
