Hi everyone! It turns out that hotel room blocks are really only reserved for the $600+ hotels which felt a bit crazy! SO we're sharing our accommodation recommendations below (Airbnb and a number of affordable hotel recommendations). Let us know if you have any questions!

House Or Rental

Airbnb RentalAirbnb Rental

Our past few trips to CDMX, we have always stayed at an Airbnb and have had lovely stays at a great price. We recommend staying in either Condesa or Roma Norte. To note, the welcome event will be in Roma Norte. The wedding venue is located south of Condesa in a neighborhood called Tacubaya. However, it is very residential so we think you'll enjoy CDMX more if you stay in our recommended neighborhoods. Condesa: One of Mexico City's trendier areas and is filled with lovely art deco homes, tree-lined streets, leafy parks, and bohemian chic shops, bars & restaurants. Parque Mexico is one of the defining landmarks of the area showing many elements of a European garden, including ponds and walkways. Calle Amsterdam is the most notable street - a large tree-lined oval perfect for morning runs. You will find more expensive, boutique hotels here. Roma Norte: Known for being the epicenter of hipster culture in the city, it rivals Polanco as the center of the city's culinary scene. Besides Art Nouveau and Neo-Classical residential houses and buildings, the neighborhood streets are lined with trees, restaurants, bars, clubs, shops, cultural centers, churches, galleries & parks. Polanco: Mexico City's swankiest neighborhood, famous for designer shops & upscale restaurants-many of which are situated on the fancy Avenida Masaryk. The architecture is a mix between modern buildings & old Spanish-style haciendas - and walking around in Polanco makes you feel like you are in a European city.

Flight

Benito Juárez International Airport (Recommended)Benito Juárez International Airport (Recommended)

Also known as the Mexico City International Airport, Benito Juárez is about 20-30 minutes away from Condesa, depending on traffic. If you land during rush hour times in the morning or afternoon, it may take you up to an hour to commute in. United Airlines, American Airlines, Delta, Viva Aerobus and Aeromexico are the most reliable airlines to fly in and out of CDMX. That said, we've always flown Volaris and haven't had (major) issues. We highly encourage our guests to set up price alerts via "Google Flight Alerts" App to ensure the best flight deal!

Flight

Aeropuerto Internacional Felipe ÁngelesAeropuerto Internacional Felipe Ángeles

Aeropuerto Internacional Felipe Ángeles (AIFA) is the new airport in the State of Mexico, located just outside of Mexico City. You may find more affordable tickets flying into AIFA. The Uber situation is a bit more complicated here than at Benito Juarez (you have to take a bus to leave the airport first), and it will take much longer to get into the city. We recommend flying into Benito Juarez, but it is ultimately up to you!

Uber TipsUber Tips

Uber is widely available in Mexico City and is the preferred (and affordable) transportation option. Comfort Ubers from Benito Juarez airport are about $25 USD/$530 pesos. To order from the airport: 1. Walk outside at arrivals. 2. Your location should autofill but if not, type in Benito Juarez Aeropuerto. 3. It’ll ask you to confirm what terminal you’re at and what door you’re being picked up from (there should be huge banners that say what door you’re at). 4. Confirm the license plate matches the app, let them know your name, and confirm your driver’s name before getting in!

Currency Exchange & ATM UsageCurrency Exchange & ATM Usage

We recommend ordering some pesos from your bank before traveling or simply withdrawing pesos from an ATM (at a bank) when in Mexico City using your debit card. Avoid currency exchanges at airports - where fees are high and exchange rates are not favorable! We recommend carrying some cash ($500-$1,000 MXN, approx $25-50 USD) for eating at the local markets or purchasing crafts at the artisanal markets. Most restaurants accept credit card - with or without PIN.
