Yes! We would love for your entire family to join us for the wedding and experience Mexico City together!
If you've already started price watching flights, please don't panic! International flights can tend to be quite expensive when looking more than 6+ months out from your travel dates. Flight prices to Mexico City tend to drop around 3-6 months out, which would fall around November 2025 - January 2026 for our April 2026 wedding.
1. CDMX = Ciudad de Mexico (aka the shorthand for Mexico City) 2. CDMX is the largest city in all of North America. Fifth largest in the world. New York City holds the 41st slot, for size context. Treat it like you would going to NYC, Chicago, LA etc. by being aware of your surroundings and wearing comfortable walking shoes. 3. Mexico City is located above a mountain and has a high altitude - 7,349 feet above sea level. For reference, Denver is 5,280 feet above sea level. Please be sure to drink lots of water and electrolytes daily.
No! Don't drink the tap water under any circumstances. Keep these best practices in mind to avoid Montezuma's revenge... 1. Use purified water to brush your teeth. Even a tiny drop of contaminated water can contain enough germs to send you to el baño instead of la boda. 2. Avoid ice cubes unless you are absolutely confident of the water source it is from. 3. We recommend coming prepared with Imodium and/or Pepto-Bismol just in case. You can also find medicine at a local pharmacy if needed! 4. Drink bottled water and lots of it (due to the altitude).
If you're coming from the United States, most likely, but check in with your cell phone provider before coming down to make sure you have some kind of international coverage. Almost all the main carriers, Verizon, Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile, offer free roaming in Mexico. This will specifically be useful for ordering Ubers, Google Maps, and of course staying in touch with people. Also, Mexico City has free Wi-Fi hotspots throughout the city so that is an option as well.
It depends on where you're traveling from! For those coming from the United States, no, you do not need an adapter. For our loved ones traveling from Europe and Africa, yes!
Being at a high altitude (over 7,300 feet) the climate remains mild most of the year. April typically has a high of 80 and a low of 50.
In addition to your wedding best, we recommend bringing loose layers for hot weather during the day and sweater/light jacket for the cooler evenings. Residents in Mexico City are well-dressed - so avoid athletic clothes if you want to fit in. The UV Index is very high, so bring sunscreen! Gina: I normally bring skirts, jeans, tank tops, blouses, a sweater or two, and a light jacket. Bring comfy flats and walking shoes - the sidewalks can be a bit (or a lot) uneven, so comfortable walking shoes are a must. Robby: I normally bring pants, shorts, short-sleeve button down shirts, and a light jacket.
Of course! There will be a place to note a food allergy in your RSVP. Feel free to check in with us if you're concerned at all!
Our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour is outdoors, but our reception will be indoors. The ceremony and reception take place at the same venue.
We'll update this with more info -- but as of right now, we're having wedding events on Friday, April 17 and Saturday, April 18. We plan to have our hotel wedding block for Thursday, April 16 to Sunday, April 19. We recommend flying in on Thursday night if possible - or even extending your trip to see more of Mexico City!
Generally, you should tip about 10% at a restaurant -- 15% if the service was really great. This is added to the bill before you get charged, so make sure to ask to add the tip!
