Travel Note
Vacation rentals in New England usually go from Saturday to Saturday with 10am check out and 4pm check in. That means there is heavy traffic all day - going north of the city to the beaches and mountains of New Hampshire and Maine and going south of the city to Cape Cod. Please use a maps app to see how much time it will take you to get from "here" to "there" so that you can plan accordingly. This will be especially true on Saturday, the day of the wedding. Route 495, the primary highway in the area, is a major vacation travel route. Fortunately, back roads will route us around it, but it may take longer. The same traffic pattern exists on Friday afternoons starting around 2pm a going until about 8pm for those going away for the weekend.
Travel Note
We recommend renting a car to get around, as public transportation is not widely available across the town. All major car rental companies are available at Logan’s, which is reached by shuttle at the lower level outside of baggage claim.
Travel Note
Uber and Lyft are readily available, with transfer costs from Logan starting around $70.
Travel Note
Public transportation from Logan to Andover (next town over) is available, taking a bus to the subway, subway to the train (North Station), the train to Andover, and then uber, or get picked up by a friend in Andover. The one way cost is around $12, and the trip will take around 1 hour and 40 minutes. Trains to Andover do not run as frequently outside of rush hour, so check the schedule to see what works best for you. The MBTA Trip Planner is useful to chart your course.
Travel Note
All American Limo, Boston Limo, and Boston Chauffeur are a few limo services that provide airport transfer.
