Alison moved to St. Louis for a job when she finished her training in the summer of 2020. Rob had come home to celebrate his dad's birthday in March of 2020. Because of the pandemic, he decided to move back permanently to the area to be closer to family. Shortly after Alison started her job, some of the nurses she worked with wanted to find her a man. One of the nurses suggested Rob. She didn’t know him that well, he worked with her husband. But at their 4th of July party he jumped right in and helped with the dishes. Who doesn't love a man that does the dishes! Rob got Alison's number and texted with an opening line about ice cream :) Within just a couple days they had an impromptu first date consisting of, you guessed it, ice cream. They walked through an historic neighborhood, eating ice cream and admiring the incredible homes, and then wandered over to the Chase Park Plaza Hotel for some cocktails. Alison learned about Rob's love of whiskey. Rob learned Alison was more of a white wine kind of girl. They bonded over stories about family and the time they each spent living in Chicago. They both knew early on that they had something special. Rob's family embraced Alison like one of their own, and Alison's parents told her that they could see how happy Rob made her. It's been a whirlwind romance and Rob made it official when he asked Alison to spend the rest of her life with him on December 19th, 2021. It was the most perfect proposal, just the two of them surrounded by beautiful Christmas lights. Now they can't wait to celebrate the start of their married life with all of you!
