It all started with a simple message. Lou had gone through a tough bike accident, and Rob, in a rare moment of bravery, decided to slide into her DMs. A polite, thoughtful message. At the time, he didn't think much would come of it. Fast-forward a few months, and the world went into lockdown. Rob found himself stuck in Saudi Arabia, Lou was stranded in her London flat, and suddenly, what had been the occasional comment turned into hours of long video calls. From childhood stories to Chinese farmer fables (“Good or bad, we don’t know”), we talked about everything and realised we just might be onto something. Eventually, the stars (and travel restrictions) aligned, and Rob, 163 days after that first message, flew to London to meet Lou in person. Nervous as he stepped into the elevator down to the hotel lobby, both wondered if the chemistry would carry over to real life. Meeting for the first time felt surreal - like seeing someone you’d always known in a brand new way. We decided to take things slow (which, in our case, meant Rob moving into Lou’s flat on day two). Things were going well, but as many of you know, Rob is not exactly in his element around the house, so Lou - the jury - was still out on him.. Luckily, fate - or a fitness competition - stepped in. Lou watched as Rob won the National Fitness Games, and with his prize money, he whisked Lou off to Italy. It was there, in magical Taormina (see below), that we officially became a couple. Looking back now, it’s funny how the twists and turns of life brought us here - from video calls to Italy, from bike accidents to lockdowns. Good or bad, we don’t know. Since then, we’ve shared adventures across the globe, from Saudi Arabia to London, Sweden, and Bali. Almost five years, one unforgettable proposal, and countless memories later, we’re ready to celebrate the next chapter of our story. Join us on October 25, 2025, in Sitges, Spain, to toast to our story so far and everything still to come. Good or bad? We think it’s going to be amazing.
