It all started with some good, old fashioned peer pressure on a Sunday afternoon. That Sunday marked the first game of the Panther’s season, and everybody was headed out to watch the away game. Laurie, who was still fairly new to Charlotte and could care less about the Panthers at the time, had every intention of staying home. After multiple aggressive text messages from her best friend (and Matron of Honor) Lindsay, Laurie agreed to walk the short distance from her apartment in South End to All American Pub. Rob was on a similar path that Sunday, hoping to watch the game from the comfort of his own home. He too was subjected to brutal yet persuasive peer pressure by his best friend (and Best Man) Lee. Just like his future fiancé, he crumbled under the pressure and headed to All American for the $1 Mimosas. When Laurie got to the bar, she met Lindsay’s close friends Lee and Chelsea, who then introduced her to Rob, their close friend. After a few mimosas later, numbers were exchanged and plans to see each other again we made.
On a Friday evening in January, Rob decided to incessantly ask Laurie if she wanted to take a random sunset photo on the dock after work (this is normal behavior for Rob as he made Laurie stand in hay for over an hour taking photos a month prior). Laurie had to remind Rob multiple times that there was a party to go to and that photos would have to take place at a different date. Rob, being the persuasive man that he is, finally got his way and the two made their way to the dock. After what seemed like 30 minutes of messing around with the flash and forgetting the camera's tripod, Rob finally got around to taking the perfect photo – and what a photo it was! Laurie was completely surprised and very happy that she finally agreed to the photo shoot.
