It all began with the perfect opening line, "Look at those luscious lips" Kate pointed out. The liquid courage that Kate consumed the night of the formidable match can be credited for such a direct approach. However, Robert did not seem to mind this. What followed this were a series of flirtatious messages and maybe a cheeky cossie pic or two, resulting in an agreed upon first date. Great Success! Right before said first date, Kate receives a message from the hottie with the body named Robert. Thinking it was just a message to exclaim his excitement in meeting the potential love of his life, she quickly opened it. "Oh BTW, I have a lazy eye. I hope that's okay." Of course she's still going, he has abs after all. Well well well... the first date goes off without a hitch. All the banter, laughs and flirting. Maybe a little smooch or two. Robert is enamoured when Kate references his favourite band, The Arctic Monkeys and Kate can't stop swooning over his lovely deep voice. Their love story begins from here, the 19th of January 2019. The summer of 2019, at the time felt like it went on forever. But really it went by in the blink of an eye. A summer that was filed with lots of firsts, their first road trip is when they knew this was something special. They drove down to Kiama for a day trip, the sun was out, the tunes were on and Kate and Robert did not shut up. They got their thunder thighs out at the beach, shared a drink over lunch and Robert got to have his first market experience with Kate. An experience he reluctantly still has on the regular. Flash forward to May that year, they are hooked. The 19th of May they spend the day in Katoomba, taking romantic walks, chatting about life and feeling more connected than ever. Without each other knowing at the time, those three little words are on their mind the whole day. Without a moment that felt right, they end up back in Robert's childhood room that afternoon. Cuddling and giggling laying on the bed, reminiscing about the day. Without the guts to say it right, she looks him in the eye and asks "Do you love me?" and he replies "Maybe". They proceed to officially declare their love for each other and are floating on cloud nine. The 3rd of October 2021, they move into their Marrickville apartment together. Spending their time figuring out what this next chapter in life looks like for them. Robert soon realises, that any chore that involves going down the stairs is ruled out for Kate. She is also now retired to the fact that, she will be the only one that knows what their plans are for the weekend. Regardless of the fact, they are still more in love than ever. Constantly day dreaming about their future together, what their children will look like and how many dogs they will have. He popped the question at Taronga Zoo's beautiful wildlife retreat on September the 21st 2024. About time she thought.
