It's about a 45 minute drive (36 miles), but with traffic, please plan for a 1 hour drive.
Yes, we've booked a shuttle bus to pick up guests in Portland. Please see the Travel Page for more details!
It's summertime-- long or short flowy summer dresses, breathable button-up shirts and slacks. We want you to be comfortable and ready to enjoy yourself! Our ceremony will be outdoors and the reception will be indoors.
The venue charges us for each person that attends our wedding. We are required to provide a precise head count 1-month prior to the event. We absolutely want YOU there, but if your significant other was not specified on the wedding invitation sent to you, we prefer that you contact us well ahead of time so that we can make arrangements for your date.
We LOVE all of our friends with kiddos, however we would prefer this to be an adult event (with the exception of our son) so that we can fully let-loose, drink, dance, and be merry! We are required to give a precise head count (children included), 1-month prior to the wedding, so if you can't find a babysitter, contact us well before the wedding date!
We are far from vegetarian, so the 2 main dishes that will be served are meat-based. However, the Empress does offer a vegetarian plate if they know in advance. Select "Vegetarian" on our RSVP page. If you have other dietary restrictions, such as gluten-free or lactose-free, please plan accordingly.
Guests can begin arriving as early as 4:30pm. The ceremony will be at 5:00pm. If you are part of the wedding party, you can arrive as early as 2:00pm to get ready with the bride and groom.
The Empress Estate requires that all guests and vendors leave the event space by 10:00pm. We are charged a large fee for each 30-minutes past this time. This policy excludes those in the wedding party that are staying the night in the mansion.
