We met in the fall of 2017, all thanks to our mutual friends Dave and Shauna, who were completely determined to introduce us! Rob was working in Iowa City as a research assistant after applying to medical school. I was working as an ad designer and had moved back to Omaha after graduating college. After first meeting at Dave and Shauna's, many texts and phone calls, and one legendary New Year's Eve party, Rob invited me to visit Iowa City for the weekend. It was an instant feeling; we almost immediately decided that long-distance wouldn't be so bad after all, if it meant we got to be together! For two years we spent every other weekend doing 8-hour round trips between Iowa City and Omaha. Then, 2020 came and changed our lives in countless ways. The job I loved (a big reason I kept living in Omaha) went fully remote, and I slowly began moving all my things from my apartment. By July, I was officially an Iowa resident. Our next big step came in June of 2021 when Rob proposed on my 26th birthday! He had coordinated our families to come visit Iowa City after not seeing them for quite a while due to Covid. It really was immeasurably special to have them there to experience that moment. We know many of our friends and family live all around the country, so we wanted to take a moment to thank you from the bottom of our hearts that you would travel to be a part of this milestone with us.
