At the age of 16, Justin and I met at a Valentine's day party hosted by Mobile Kappa League. Prior to the event, I told my girlfriends that I would not give my phone number to any guy who asked for it; but God clearly stated otherwise. With his charm and meekness, Justin did not ask for my number, instead he simply handed me his phone. Caught off guard and without any knowledge of how to reject his gesture, I put my number in his phone and only within a couple of minutes he texted me and befriended me on social media (clearly he was smitten). We dated and got to know each other from February 8th, 2014 to April 30th, 2015, which is the day I realized he was everything I ever could have prayed for. We then began dating exclusively. The amazing and unique thing about us is that he was my first relationship and I was his'. What a rare blessing to be able to share all of our "first" together. We are destined to have many more and we are blessed to be able to have you witness our first kiss and first dance as husband and wife on August 17th, 2019.
Justin treated me on a cruise to Yucatan and Cozumel, Mexico. Little to my knowledge, Justin's proposal began from the time we boarded the ship to the time he verbally asked me. So, let's begin with Day 1: As we entered our room, there were a dozen roses displayed on the table. Day 2: he treated me to a manicure and pedicure. Day 3: he gave me a rose gold, diamond, heart shaped necklace with a key extending from the heart; symbolizing that I am the key to his heart. Day 4: we went swimming with Ghandi, the sweetest dolphin in Mexico. After we created a memory with Ghandi that would last a lifetime, Justin sealed the memory by asking me a question that would change and enhance our lives forever, "Destiny, will you marry me?" I've been swooning ever since.
