Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Kindly RSVP by Wednesday, October 1, 2025.

Question

Are kids and/or significant others welcome?

Answer

While our philosophy is usually “the more the merrier” we are also mindful of budget and space limitations by our venue. We politely request the attendance of guests whose name is on the invitation only.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code is semi-formal. Gowns, cocktail dresses, and suits are all welcome. We want you to feel like your best, most confident and comfortable self at our special event.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

If you find that our hotel block with the Hawthorne is full there are a number of other wonderful options in the area. Salem Waterfront Hotel 225 Derby Street (0.3 miles away- This is the closest option located just down the street from our venue.) The Hotel Salem 209 Essex Street (0.4 miles away) Hampton Inn Salem, Boston 11 Dodge Street (0.5 miles away)

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please plan on arriving about 30 minutes prior to the ceremony start time in order to find parking and your seat. The ceremony will begin at 4 PM so plan to arrive at the venue by 3:30. Late arrivals will be held until after the processional and seated in the back.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes! The Hawthorne has two parking lots located on Essex Street, behind the hotel. We recommend entering "98 Essex Street, Salem MA" if using GPS. Parking is free and available on a first come, first served basis, with a number of accessible spaces for those with a visible disability placard.

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

We appreciate everyone traveling to celebrate our special day with us. In order to spend as much time as possible with you all, the groom’s parents will be hosting a casual Welcome Event with some drinks and nibbles the night before the big day (Saturday, November 8). Drop by any time between 7-9pm and stay for a little or stay for a lot. We can’t wait to welcome you!

For all the days along the way
