George Washington's Mount Vernon
Mount Vernon is an American landmark and estate of George Washington. So much to see and do on the estate. Chris and I like to park at George Washington Parkway and walk to Mount Vernon.
Alexandria Boat Tours
Alexandria offers several cruises on the Potomac. From dinner tours to pirate cruises. You can take a water taxi to National Harbor and visit MGM or DC's Wharf. We definitely think boat ride of some sort while you're visiting will be worth it.
The National Harbor
National Harbor is a waterfront resort destination with several shops, restaurants, and attractions. The Capital Wheel is so fun and if you're feeling lucky head over to MGM Casino located in the Harbor as well.
Brut Champagne and Wine Bar
This is Chris and I's favorite place to have a romantic dinner. The food is delicious and the wine/champagne selection is amazing.
Fontaine Caffe & Creperie
Across from Brut is Fontaine Caffe & Creperie. You will feel like you are at a French Bistro with the tasty crepes and scenery. Great brunch spot, but really you can go anytime because all the menu items are delicious.
Two Nineteen Restaurant
Cigar lounge with live music and New Orleans vibe.
Ada’s on the River
This is one of the many restaurants on the water with stunning views. We recommend the bone marrow and all the cocktails.
IL Porto Ristorante
The best Italian restaurant in town with a lovely atmosphere.
Dolci Gelati
Best gelato in town. We recommend the delicious affogato and to eat it in the small garden you can sit at in the back. The shop was originally a Victorian townhome and it is said to be haunted.
