Fully vaccinated people will no longer be required to wear a face covering. Unvaccinated persons are encouraged to wear face coverings per Governor Northam’s Executive Order 79.
The wedding attire dress code is black-tie. Think Prom 2.0 ;-) Men should wear a black tuxedo with matching trousers, bow tie, and cummerbund or waistcoast, and black patent-leather or calfskin pumps or laced oxfords. Ladies please wear floor length gown/dress.
The weather in the DC area in October is beautiful and the 16th is peak Fall season. The average temperature during the day is 69 degrees and sunny. We recommend bringing a coat because the evenings can get as low as 40 degrees.
The ceremony is taking place at The Basilica of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Old Town Alexandria. The reception area is 10 minutes away at the Belle Haven Country Club.
There is street parking only. We recommend getting to the church at least 20 minutes before the start of the ceremony to ensure you have enough time to find street parking. You can park anywhere you like in Belle Haven CC’s large parking lot or you also have the option of using their valet service by pulling up to their main entrance.
There is a one hour gap in between the end of the ceremony and the beginning of cocktail hour. We recommend taking this time to check into your hotel or grabbing a drink at one of the several restaurants or bars in Old Town.
While we would love to see your little ones, our wedding is going to be an adults-only event.
