2-mile loop hike along the river. A short scenic and very versatile hike along both sides of the river. The West (starting point) side is very easy and can be done as an out & back. The East side has a bit of elevation change and some rock stepping that grade it as moderate
2.6 mile out-and-back hike. Although the mileage may seem easy, this hike starts at 11,700 feet, which will make it especially challenging for those people coming from sea level. Hike through forested areas and meadows that eventually lead to an alpine lake. The trailhead starts at the LAST pull-off before you reach the top of the pass, so if you reach the top, you've gone too far.
Take a ride up to Cottonwood Pass on the Continental Divide for stunning views at 12,126 ft. From the parking area, there is a short trail to a viewing spot (0.2 mile walk).
