ONLY ONE FISH IN THE SEA

JAN 2018 - PLENTY OF FISH

One day Rita decided to check out Plenty of Fish (a dating app) to see the app her best friends met on. After many mismatches, along came a big smile, kind eyes and a 6'3 gentleman that caught her eye. Adam's profile mentioned he was new to Seattle and that he had a goal of meeting someone new every day. Rita decided to take action and messaged him, "Have you met that someone new today?" To her surprise he messaged back instantly!

WHERE THEY MET

January 16, 2018 - Von's Spirits Seattle

After a few weeks of chatting, Adam finally asked Rita on a date. Rita asked Adam what kind of food he was wanting to discover in Seattle, and he immediately said he wanted oysters. Unfortunately, Von's stopped selling oysters by the time of their first date, but they had delicious mussels instead! It didn't matter much, because the food was the last thing on either of their minds...

PURPLE, GOLD & IN LOVE

November 3, 2018 - Husky Stadium - University of Washington

Not only does this date signify their first Washington Husky college football game together and Adam's first game with the Scalzo clan, but it was the day they first said "I love you." Halfway through the game Rita sat gazing at Adam with a big smile on her face. When Adam asked "Why are you smiling?", Rita responded "because I love you." In the most amazing daze ever, Adam responded back (while still in shock), "I love you, too!" It only took a few hard seltzers for one of them to finally say the words...even when they had both known it to be true for 6-months. They have been smiling ever since.

THE PROPOSAL

May 27, 2019 - JOSHUA TREE

Adam has always thought that if Rita wasn't working at her current job, she could be a detective, since she picks up on the smallest details and notices everything around her. Because of this, Adam had to play as calm, cool, and collected as possible so as not to give it away that he was getting set to propose. With help from their friends, Aly and Maggie, Adam picked out the perfect engagement ring for Rita and couldn't wait to give it to her. On morning of May 27th while heading out for a short hike at Joshua Tree, Adam waited for the perfect moment to ask the most important question of his life. When Rita climbed atop a boulder that overlooked the entire beautiful landscape, Adam knew this was it! He reached into his bag, saying he "needed some water," and in doing so, removed the ring from its case, and, while still on one knee, asked Rita to marry him. The exact words that were said are a blur, but thankfully a family walked by and helped them capture the moment. Adam did his best to keep his eyes on the road on the drive back, but the excitement of knowing he was now engaged to the love of his life was almost too much to handle. They made it back safely, and arrived to a celebratory greeting from their friends awaiting them in Palm Springs!
