FROM "BRO" TO "BABE" Working as a hospital transporter at the time, Chris transported one of Kim's patients down to the imaging department for a cat-scan. Kim, being the "new nurse in town" introduced herself to him, and he shared he had just started working there in February. K: "Actually, my birthday is in February!" C: "Mine too!" K: "My birthday is on the 8th. And yours?" C: "The 21st." K: "But wait, what year?" C: "1992." K: "Me too! I'm 13 days older than you..." It was quite a memorable conversation. Since that first meeting, they've always stayed in touch at work and eventually hung out outside of work, becoming best friends. Neither of them have thought there would be a possibility of being more than friends, but then there wouldn't be a love story if one of them didn't cave in... After years of friendship, Chris broke out of the friend zone and expressed his growing feelings for Kim. On the other hand, she was afraid to fall for him and ruin their close friendship. He advocated that if they did not work out, he would still commit to their friendship because she has made a positive impact in his life. Feeling reassured, she gave him a chance. After a month and half since his confession, they eventually became official on January 26, 2018 -- when Chris took Kim to Disney for Festival of the Arts and asked her to be his girlfriend. It was a fun date they both will never forget!

RINGING IN THE NEW YEAR In late 2021, Chris started his master plan to propose to Kim with some help from her friends. They knew her ring size, her ideal ring shape, and her ring style. He got his family to agree to host a fancy New Years party. Kim had just finished a 12-hour shift, coming home to her mother all dolled up and Chris not wearing jeans. She found it odd because usually New Years is very casual in their household. He explained that because some of his extended family will be there, his parents thought to make it more festive and elaborate. She rushed to get ready and off they went to the Jinetes' Residence. Like any New Years Party, they ate and mingled, awaiting the time for the ball to drop. Just moments before countdown, guests gathered around the TV, with Chris' mom directing the couple to the front. Countdown started and in 3... 2... 1... Chris knelt down on one knee and Kim agreed to be his forever partner! But it was not the only surprise -- some of the friends who helped him pick her engagement ring came from out of town and snuck up behind them as the special moment unfolded.
