Believe it or not, we met on a dating app called "Tinder." Even though Blake and I both attended Murray State University at the same time, we never would have crossed paths because we studied in different areas of campus. We texted back and forth exchanging corny pick-up lines and getting to know each other behind our phone screens. After a few weeks of talking, Blake asked me to dinner at the nicest place in town, Jasmine's! We met for the very first time when he knocked on my college apartment door. Immediately, Stella greeted him before I could! (She didn't even bark at him so I knew then that he was special). We both had a wonderful time and I considered going out with him again; unfortunately, I learned that he was moving to Iowa to begin his career after graduation. I was extremely upset, so I told him we could just be friends. (To this day, Blake will never let it down that I "dumped" him). Blake never gave up on me, and pursued me - he even tricked me into helping him with his graduate research so he could spend time with me! The more we spent time together, the more we fell in love with each other. The week before his Master's graduation, he asked me to officially be his girlfriend. We dated a year of long distance with me still in Murray finishing up school and him working in Iowa. After a year of long distance, we traveled down to West Palm Beach where we got engaged! Prior to our relocation to Florida, we eloped and had our ceremony at a beautiful botanical garden fountain in Davenport, Iowa. Blake, Stella, and I then moved to our dream location in sunny South Florida! Blake started work for NextEra Energy as an occupational health and safety professional and I began work at Village Animal Clinic as a veterinary nurse! We are beyond blessed to have found each other and fallen so in love. We can't wait to have our official ceremony and celebration with our family, friends, and loved ones on April 18, 2020!
