I noticed Nick's sweet smile at Southland City Church in 2017. Later that year, I officially met him at City Youth. He initially piqued my interest. So much so that I called over my best friend, Whitley, to find out more about this mystery man through Facebook. After several searches & conversations with mutual friends, we pinpointed him to be Nick Roth As we grew in our involvement in the community at Southland, I found myself naturally spending more time around him. As I learned more about Nick's heart to serve, commitment to his faith and loyalty to his friends & family it made it incredibly easy to develop a crush on him. After a weekend spent at a youth retreat...Kim & Whitley basically forced me to ask out Nick. & They were great matchmakers because we had our first date in November of 2017. On that date, I learned about his love for ducks, his red hands, and his loyalty to his cowboy boots. I was absolutely smitten.
Nick picked me up to what I thought was a triple date night out to dinner. He took us on a detour to Southland. We pulled up to the church and out of the corner of my eye, I noticed a gift bag at the front door. Nick asked me to walk up to the gift. The gift included three letters & prayers from incredible mentors and pastors in our lives. As we were reading the letters, Whitley came around the corner and began clicking photos. At that moment, I knew this was the day of our engagement! He proceeded to lead me to my parents' and his parents' homes to open more letters & prayers from our loved ones. He then brought me to the place of our first date where he then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Afterward, we took photos, enjoyed appetizers one-on-one, and were welcomed by a party with our favorite people. Next to accepting Christ as Lord, saying yes to be Nick's wife was the easiest decision I have ever made! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you!
