The Highlands
We highly recommend walking around Downtown Highlands for shopping, coffee, and good restaurants. We loved grabbing drinks at the Rooftop Terrace at the Old Edwards Inn & Spa and we also loved the burger at the Ruffled Grouse Tavern inside of the Highlander Mountain House. It is a quaint town situated at an elevation of 4,118 feet.
Brookings Anglers- Cashiers
Western NC is a haven for fly fishing. Brookings Anglers has some of the best local guides to take advantage of the area.
Hike Whiteside Mountain
This popular 2-mile loop trail along the awe inspiring Whiteside Mountains cliffs offers one of the best view-to-distance ratios of any hike. This is the classic Cashiers hike.
Panthertown Cafe LLC
We went here for breakfast on our first day in the area when we were looking at wedding venues and have been back many times. Great breakfast and excellent service.
Whiteside Brewing Company
We go here for a meal every time we visit the venue. It has excellent food, beers, and local casual vibe that we love.
Grand Olde Station Restaurant
We loved having dinner here! The beautiful lake is across the street and the service is fantastic! Reservations are recommended.
The Library Kitchen & Bar
Excellent unique food in an old home with abstract artwork on the walls. We ate here after our engagement photo session and enjoyed it. Rin recommends the trout and Tyler loved the schnitzel! Highly recommend making a reservation.
