Enjoy some of this initial travel information. Additional info on car rentals and accommodations to come soon!

Flight

Flying to Italy

Florence and Rome will be the easiest and most affordable cities to fly in to for most people. If you choose to fly into another major European city, there are also regional flights into Perugia. Florence: ~1.5 hour drive from the Villa Rome: ~2.5 hour drive from the Villa Perugia: ~30 minute drive from the Villa

Train

Train Travel

For guests staying onsite at the Villa and are not planning on renting a car, there are local trains that are clean and convenient and will take you right into Terontola-Cortona train station, a 15 minute drive from the Villa. We will do our best to coordinate train pickups using the Villa vans - more info to come! Riley Travel Tip: Some train doors will not automatically open. When the light above the train door turns red, that is your indication to open the doors and exit the train. Be ready as you only have about 60 seconds to do so!

You can directly reach out to the company as well to set up a ride at info@mytourandtransferintuscany.com

Rental Car

Car Rental Information

You may want to rent a car to travel the Italian countryside; there are car rentals available at the major airports. Please let us know if you need assistance in finding a rental car. To rent & drive a car in Italy there are a few documents you'll need to provide: - Your state driver's license - Your passport - An IDP (International Driving Permit)- www.aaa.com/vacation/idpf.html - This can be acquired through AAA only; do NOT use any other websites (only AAA is approved to provide these by the US government) - Applications can be completed in person at a local AAA office or via mail; see above website for requirements

Rental Car

Local Transportation

The following information comes from our wedding planners: We understand that navigating the picturesque countryside of Cortona, Tuoro sul Trasimeno, and Passignano sul Trasimeno may require reliable transportation options. While we are not located in a bustling city, we are pleased to recommend local car rental services with drivers, which offer a comparable experience to traditional taxi services. These businesses typically operate with a single vehicle, often driven by the owners themselves. To engage their services, we recommend making reservations in advance to secure their availability, as last-minute arrangements might prove challenging. We encourage you to compare prices, as there can be significant variations among different service providers. Please reach out to Riley if you would like the list of service providers at 202-438-3844!
