we're getting married!

Riley and Tay met as many modern couples do - through the power of social media. In late 2018, they followed each other on Twitter because they both were fans of the same K-Pop group (Seventeen, of course). They spent the next few months becoming friends and harboring secret crushes until eventually, in March of 2019, they started dating. They were long distance while Riley was in college in Indiana and Tay worked and lived in the LA area, always making time to see each other when Riley was on breaks at school. In the fall of 2021, they moved to Kansas together so Riley could complete her first Master's degree, and from there, they headed east to Blacksburg, Virginia for Riley's MFA; Tay's love has supported Riley through her time in school. The two of them are endlessly grateful to have found such great love all because of their shared music taste. They are so excited to begin this next stage of life together.
