Unfortunately, we were not able to get a shuttle set up to bring guests out to the venue Friday afternoon (although there is Uber and Lyft available for that). We will have a shuttle Friday night bringing guests back to Cedar Falls. The night time shuttles will be at 10:30 pm, 11:00 pm, 11:30 pm and 12:00 am! If you decide to leave your vehicle at The Hidden Acre the venue owners ask that you pick up your vehicle by 9:00 am Saturday morning.
Oofta-- what an eventful 6 months we've had! Our May 30th wedding turned out more beautiful than Tyler and I could have ever planned and most importantly.. WE ARE MARRIED! While we are still getting details straightened out for our reception on Friday, September 25th there have been some changes we wanted to update you on. We have changed our reception venue to The Hidden Acre located at 1406 250th Street Waverly, IA 50677. With the current COVID-19 restrictions we are having to downsize our guest list for dinner which was more painful than you could imagine. Tyler and I love all of our guest dearly so it was not easy. While we cannot have our full guest list for dinner we are allowed to invite everyone to the dance with Pie in the Sky band beginning at 7:00 pm. We will still have shuttles running from Waverly to Cedar Falls and back, before and after dinner--times are yet to be determined. We will have cocktail hour starting at 4:00 pm and dinner beginning at 5:30 pm. The band will play from 7:00 pm- 11:00 pm. We have been in constant communication with the new venue, shuttles, hotels and caterer to ensure our guests a safe and enjoyable night. We will have hand sanitizers and masks readily available for those wanting to use them. If you are uncomfortable coming to the dinner or dance please know are very understanding and have the utmost respect for everyone's personal beliefs and unique circumstances. To say we cannot wait for this day is a complete understatement!
As all if you probably know by now we have decided to postpone our wedding date. While Tyler and I believe the pandemic will be nearly over by May 30th our biggest concern is the social distancing guidelines. We don’t believe the guidelines will go from only allowing less than 10 people together to allowing +400 in a 3 weeks time. We would hate for people to have to choose between our wedding and their health. For the sake of our guests and our own sanity we will postpone the reception to September 25th. Tyler and I both dreamed of the big, church-filled ceremony but we’ve decided to have a small, intimate ceremony on May 30th still. We will have our videographer there to capture the moments and we will share it with everyone at the reception on September 25th. At this point September 25th seems lightyears away when we were only 8 weeks away a few days ago. A Friday wedding wasn’t ideal for us but it is the only date that works for all of our vendors this year. I’m not going to lie, A LOT of tears were shed during this decision making. The wedding we dreamed of and planned for 16 months disappeared in days. BUT— We have a newfound excitment for our new plans. We get to have our bachelor/bachelorette parties as well as wedding showers back that we had to cancel. We get to have the butterflies and excitment back that we lost in the midst of COVID-19. COVID-19 stole our dream wedding away from us but we are still EXTREMELY blessed (and thankful). When the dust finally settles we will still have our families and friends by our sides. We will still have our health. We will still have one heck of a party! We will still get to become husband and wife, it will just look a little different than planned. We love you all and cannot WAIT to celebrate with everyone on September 25th! Drinks on us! 💓 Feel free to reach out to Tyler or I for any questions or concerns.
