Call or email ahead of time for a reservation. They often do live classical concerts in the vineyard, so check their social media, as well. Very cute place and a close runner-up for our potential venue.
Catania Fish Market

Beautiful spot with an ancient theater. It's likely to be very busy in August, but worth seeing. Linked is a seafood restaurant that's a bit off the beaten path and very enjoyable.
Riposto
We love Giarre/Riposto! Stephan lived in Giarre for a year during his Fulbright. You can take the train here from Catania and walk the "strip" down from Giarre to Riposto. There are ton of cute shops, nice cafes, and good restaurants. Happy to give more recommendations if you end up traveling here!
Fiumefreddo di Sicilia
This is a good spot for the beach. It's a pebble beach, which has it's own perks (Rikki is a bigger fan of the rock "beaches" because there is a ton of great snorkeling to do). It's a close drive from Trecastagni and you can also rent a chair from one of the businesses on the coast.
Noto
Very cute small city in southeast Sicily. If you're going to Siracusa, we recommend spending an afternoon here. The piazza is lovely.
