We request that you please RSVP by September 1, 2023. However, some of you got your invitations a little later than I wanted. If that’s the case for you, please have a final answer by September 15th at the very latest!!! If we don’t receive a reply by the requested date, we’ll count you as a ‘no’. PLEASE do not forget to RSVP! If you forget and still show up, I hope you brought a chair and some snacks.
You will be able to RSVP online after our formal invitations are sent out!
Yes! We would love to see our family and friends get dressed up with us! We are requesting a semi-formal dress code for our event. Please no jeans or loud colors! You are more than welcome to dress within our color palette Our ceremony and reception are outdoors! We highly suggest wearing chunky heels, platforms, flats etc. Your stilettos will sink in the dirt! Big Sur is usually cold at night. Expect for cool weather of about 73 during the day and 49 in the evening. Don’t forget your coats! (There will be heaters!)
Yes! The Big Sur Lodge has a room block for our event that will remain active until 30 days prior to the wedding. When making a reservation, you can use our discount code: Hendricks2023 If you have any questions or need assistance with your reservation, please call the Big Sur Lodge.
Due to limited venue capacity, we are only able to accommodate those guests formally invited on your wedding invitation. Thank you for your understanding!
Although we love your little ones, we regretfully cannot accommodate everyone’s children due to restricted space, with the exception of immediate family. We hope this advance notice means you are still able to share our big day, let your hair down and enjoy the party!
There will be an open bar with wine, beer and champagne only.
October in Big Sur is mildly cool with a breeze. The average high during the day is in the low 70s, with the average nights being in the low 50s. A coat or jacket is always a good idea in Big Sur!
To save you stress on time, we suggest arriving to the lodge on Friday, October 27. Especially if you are planning on driving! We also recommend arriving Thursday evening if you would like to spend Friday enjoying all the beauty that Big Sur has to offer. The ceremony will begin at 4 PM on Saturday, October 28. Please allow yourself the time to arrive at the lodge and get ready so you are on time!
The ceremony will be open seating, so sit wherever you please. There will be a few reserved seats intended for parents. For the reception, we will be carefully arranging tables so our guests are sat with those they know.
Dinner will be served buffet style! The Monterey Bay Buffet is comprised of all fresh and locally sourced foods. The menu has been detailed on the RSVP portion, and asks for you to pick an option; however, be aware that even if you select an option, it is a buffet and you will be able to choose from any and all of the good eats that are provided!
If you are staying at the Big Sur Lodge with us, each cottage has one designated parking space. If you have multiple cars, you can ask them about additional parking upon checking in and they will give you directions! The main lodge where the ceremony and reception will be held is in walkable distance from your rooms. HOWEVER, we recommend that you get dropped off or drive to the main lodge’s parking lot. The road down is steep and bumpy!
We would love for you to share our happy day! Please use our wedding hashtag #fallingforhendricks when posting so that we can see all of your pics and videos! Tag Jake and I in your Instagram stories! @rikkinoel and @jhendricks.021
Yes! The Lodge does not allow us to extend our party time due to noise ordinances. So we will be hosting an after party a few minutes down the road at the Fernwood Tavern! Our party has reserved their outdoor deck, surrounded by redwood trees, the Big Sur River, and adorned with fire pits and patio heaters. The drive there is only 3 minutes! If you wish to walk, it takes about 18-20 minutes. Be aware that Big Sur is VERY dark at night and light pollution isn’t a problem there. Have a light source, be mindful of the highway, and as always, be respectful!
