There will be a shuttle bus between Luxembourg City and Larochette on both Friday and Saturday. The bus will leave from the Novotel Kirchberg at 10:00 on Friday and 15:00 on Saturday. There will be a return bus on Saturday leaving Larochette at 03:00 (yes, 3 am!). There will be no return bus on Friday, so for the few guests that need to go back into the city after the mini reception, we recommend checking the Mobiliteit app for the best public transport connections available at that time. (Likely a bus to Junglinster and then to Luxexpo, or a short bus to Mersch and then the train into Luxembourg city.) All public transport in Luxembourg is free and generally runs well. We do not recommend taking Ubers or Taxis because they are incredibly expensive.
Both "formal" and "semi-formal" outfits are fine, same with short or long dresses. Tuxes are not needed. We do not recommend any pointy heels since the castle grounds are a mix of cobblestones and grass. Block heels and wedges should be fine. If you have specific questions, you can ask the bride & groom! Anyone who knows Lainey knows she loves a floral motif, so feel free to lean into that!
The weather can vary a fair bit, and it can be anywhere between 65-85F. The ceremony will be outdoors, but dinner and dancing will be indoors, so bring a light jacket if you get cold easily.
Thanks to our lovely co-officiants, Lars and Cole, our ceremony will be in Luxembourgish, German, and English.
March 19th please!
Please include any dietary restrictions when you fill out the meal preference form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSd4OJHmPpnlm_8o2MPMZpVKMtJtvmB9nN7JeGyx13JBhpvWlw/viewform
Yes, kids are welcome! We will have a designated area for kids to sleep and a babysitter to keep an eye on them while you enjoy the party. Just please include them in your RSVP so we can plan accordingly.
In Luxembourg, the civil ceremony is mandatory and must be performed by a local official. The exchange of vows on Saturday will be what Americans typically think of as a "wedding ceremony," except we will already be legally married.
The country has three official languages (Luxembourgish, French, and German) so pretty much every place has three different names/spellings. If your phone is set to English, Google maps will likely default to the French spellings.
Approximately 4-5 hours! Come hungry...
