Carson's Best Man and Sarah's first friend on campus, Nathan, introduced them when Sarah visited Cornerstone Christian Fellowship for the first time. Carson thought Sarah was absolutely beautiful and she knew in her heart that he would become someone very important to her.
A year later the two of them were reacquainted. After running into one another at a Welcome Week event at IU, they decided to grab a coffee and began to build a friendship. Through many coffee dates, Carson quickly became smitten and Sarah enjoyed his company.
After a movie night just hanging out in the lounge of Sarah's dorm, Carson asked Sarah if she would like to pursue a romantic relationship with him. She agreed and he knew he had one shot to impress her. Carson did just that. Dinner at DeAngelo's and a stroll through Barnes and Noble provided the perfect opportunity to get to know each other on a deeper level. And don't forget the ice cream at Jiffy Treat!
Two years pass and Carson bought a ring! Sarah had always told him that she would say yes even if he proposed with a Ring Pop. Thus, Operation RP was born and Sarah's Maid of Honor, Emma, was in on the scheme. Emma planned to pick Sarah up from class and she was shocked when Carson got out of the car. Carson took Sarah to the Showalter Fountain, where they were reacquainted, and Nathan was sitting there with a yellow rose, representing their friendship. Then to the patio of the Memorial Union, where they frequently met for coffee, they went. Emma met them there with a lavender rose representing love at first sight. Finally, Carson guided Sarah to the Rose Well House where she found a dozen red roses and he got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife. Of course, she said yes!
