We're Getting Married!

It all began in 2017, when Richie made the tough decision to leave New Jersey to pursue an opportunity in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Little did he know, not only would this move be a jumpstart to his career, but also (and more importantly) where he would find the woman he would spend the rest of his life with.  Harrisburg is where he worked with Valentina’s Aunt Snježana, who seemed to have a knack for seeing the future—or at least recognizing soulmates. This is exactly what she told Richie, that her niece was to him. One day, Valentina received a call from her aunt Snježana, but this time with a proclamation that surprised her. With absolute certainty, the first statement, before a hello was: “I met the man you’re going to marry, he is handsome, smart, motivated and has the most beautiful child in the world.” Ok, Richie made up a part of that statement, but you get the idea... Without the opportunity to even learn more about her, she demanded and proactively set up the groom-to-be attend a blind date! Luckily, Valentina also agreed...  Fate, however, has a funny way of keeping things interesting. The soon-to-be couple met on several occasions as friends, but the timing never seemed quite right. They were in different places in their lives, focusing on their families and careers. Time passed, and life took them on separate journeys—until the world came to a screeching halt during the 2020 pandemic, giving them the space to reflect on their respective futures. This time, the encounter was quite different between them. Their friendship led to deeper conversations and alignment on what a future together would be like. They were more open to love, mature, and ready to embrace the world together. Their feelings got stronger, their relationship strengthened, and their love and mutual respect for each other pulled them closer! They formed a strong bond, not just with each other, but also with Aiden, as their journey took them from Pennsylvania back to New Jersey. On August 5th of 2022, on their vacation to the most beautiful place, Makarska, Croatia, Richie took the opportunity to create an unforgettable moment during a breathtaking excursion up a 35 KM winding road to a mountain top where he surprised her on a glass bridge, high above sea level to ask to take her hand and be his wife. As they stood suspended between heaven and earth, Valentina accepted his offer! They celebrated the rest of the day with family and the best-tasting wine and food!  Since that magical day, they’ve learned to live and grow together, building a foundation of love, trust, and laughter. They credit God and, of course, Aunt Snježana for bringing them together and blessing their journey. Now, as they prepare for their wedding, they can’t wait to bring their beloved family and friends together in the places that mean so much to them. After a long engagement, the wait is finally over. 2025 is their year, and they’re ready to celebrate the next chapter of their love story—one that’s been written in the stars all along.
