Things To Do
U.S. Space & Rocket Center
Our wedding is at the Space and Rocket Center - which is arguably the best place to visit in Alabama. We will be in the Saturn V Hall and you will get to see a lot of cool artifacts, simulators, and spaceflight history, but there is a whole outdoor rocket park, rides, and more museum to explore! We definitely recommend checking it out!
Monte Sano State Park
When Emily moved to Huntsville for college, it was her first time away from the midwest and therefore the first time she ever saw mountains (foothills). Monte Sano was one of Emily and Richard's favorite hiking spots!
Big Spring Park Walking Trail
Big Spring Park is in the heart of downtown Huntsville! It's a beautiful park with lots of walking paths and would be a great way for you to see the city on a nice day! There are many restaurants and local shops nearby in addition to some museums.
Bridge Street Town Centre
This is Emily's favorite place to shop in Huntsville! There are lots of shops, restaurants, a canal walk, and a carousel.
Huntsville Botanical Garden
The Botanical Gardens are a beautiful place to go on a long walk or have a picnic - especially in the fall!
The Camp
This is a fun place to go to eat! There are lots of food options. For my Indy friends - this place is like The Garage!
I Love Sushi Japanese Cuisine
This was where Richard and Emily went on their first date. Richard originally showed up at the wrong location, but it worked out!
Awakening Strength, Inc.
This is the best powerlifting gym in Huntsville! Richard used to train here and will be training here while we are in town for the wedding!
The University of Alabama in Huntsville
This is where Richard and Emily met - specifically in the Salmon Library. This is also where Richard proposed to Emily! We recommend a walk around the campus - it's beautiful and has changed a lot! While you're there, feel free to sign up for a four year engineering degree - we definitely recommend this - you might meet the love of your life.
