Have you ever been to Texas in the summer!? But seriously, we're excited to spend a few days relaxing and celebrating in the French countryside and hope you are too. Most of our guests are planning to turn our wedding into a mini-vacation :)
Yes. France has allowed large gatherings (including weddings) since early summer 2021. We are confident that we'll be able to have a brilliant day together in July, but should the situation change in anyway we'll be sure to let you know
Last update (as of July 2022) France has lifted the most severe travel restrictions and there is no longer a need to use the "Health Pass". If you are fully vaccinated (see links below for definition) then you do not need to test to enter France. If you are not fully vaccinated you will need to take a PCR test in the 72 hours before departure or Antigen within 48 hours. For more information see the links below: https://www.diplomatie.gouv.fr/en/coming-to-france/coming-to-france-your-covid-19-questions-answered/#sommaire_2 https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/france/entry-requirements https://edition.cnn.com/travel/article/france-travel-covid-19/index.html
Yes, please do go ahead and book. See the "Travel" page for more details
The only event we have a dress code for is the Saturday evening (more detail below). The rest of the time we'd like you to have fun and enjoy the French summer sun, so dress comfortably and don’t stress. On Saturday evening, we'd ask that you wear "Cocktail Attire" for our wedding ceremony onwards. This generally means suit jacket for men and mid-length dresses for women. This article has a good explanation if you need it: https://www.brides.com/cocktail-attire-wedding-4844364
We are hoping it will be warm during the days (25°C / 80°F) and a little cooler (15°C / 60°F) at night, so you should pack accordingly. As a reminder, we only have a dress code for Saturday evening (see above) so don't stress about what to wear at other times. There are a few trails to explore in the forest so pack your trainers and make sure to bring your swimming gear & some sunglasses!
If you are staying at the Chateau you will have breakfast, lunch and dinner provided. There is also access to a small kitchen to fix yourself a snack if you need If you are staying offsite you will have lunch and dinner provided To help the caterers plan we have asked every guest when they are arriving and confirmed with each of you where you are staying. If your plans have changed please let us know
We've scheduled a few activities at Chateau du Fey to keep you entertained, but also left some space for you to do your own thing. If planning to go offsite for activities, the times below are ideal - Anytime on Thursday daytime. Please be back for dinner at 7pm though - Anytime on Friday morning. Please let us know if you'll be skipping the lunch & games that start at 12pm - Anytime on Saturday before the wedding. Please be back in plenty of time to get ready for the ceremony at 5:30pm (and keep some energy for the evening)
They are very welcome to come, but we also want to let you know that we're not planning specific activities or meals for children throughout the weekend. So they will be your responsibility :) To make sure that everyone can enjoy the wedding day itself we will be organizing a "kids club" starting after the ceremony through to the early hours. We'll have a quiet room in the chateau set-up with games, food and beds. We will have professional babysitters (number TBC based on number of children) who have been vetted by our wedding planner. We can share more details with you if you send us a text
We know that we are asking a lot from you to travel to France for our wedding (some of you had to get a passport just for this!) so please know that your presence is more than enough. For those who still want to celebrate our marriage with a gift, we've listed the charities below that are closest to our hearts. A contribution would be most appreciated in lieu of a gift.
