In December of 2022, Anna and her coworker delivered Christmas cookies to a local title company. She chatted with a few of the girls at the title company, and left her business card with the cookie box. The following day, Mitch went to the same title company to close on his new house. At the closing, the title agent said to Mitch, "You should meet my friend, Anna, I feel like she'd be into this whole outdoorsy type of thing you have going on." By the end of the closing, she had given Mitch Anna's business card (from the cookie box) and encouraged him to reach out. As he was leaving, the sellers whom he had purchased the house from said, "So are you going to call that girl?" and Mitch said, "Absolutely not. The whole thing seems kind of weird." Over the course of the next few days, Mitch's coworker convinced him to text the girl from the business card. A few days after delivering the cookies, Anna received a text message out of the blue from a guy named Mitch, who said he had gotten her number from this title agent. Anna was very annoyed. After all, she had only met her once a few days ago! So she reached out to the title agent to find out what was going on. As it turns out, the girl didn't know this Mitch guy either- she just thought he was "good looking" and "well spoken" and decided to give him Anna's number. After much debate, Anna decided to text Mitch back. They corresponded for a few days and after realizing they had a lot in common, decided to meet up that weekend for a first date. They hit it off right away! On their first date, they met up for food truck tacos and then decided to extend the date to the local bowling alley to play pool and arcade games. Before heading to the bowling alley, Anna made Mitch promise that he would not let her win at any games. She wanted to win fair and square to gain true bragging rights. Anna did not win any games that night... but she did win Mitch's heart.
