From Ryan Raiders to Rogers Rings & Vows Our Story Our story starts in 2006 at Billy Ryan High School in Denton, Texas—though at the time, we had no idea it was actually our story beginning. Life had brought us both there in unexpected ways. She had relocated after Hurricane Katrina, and he had moved from Houston during a season of family illness. We knew of each other, ran in similar circles, and kept it moving. After high school, life took us in different directions—Prairie View A&M University and Huston-Tillotson University—but as it turns out, God wasn’t finished with us yet. Years later, one late-night scroll on Instagram changed everything. One DM turned into conversation, and conversation turned into something real. We quickly bonded over our shared love of music (even if we don’t agree on John Coltrane vs. Miles Davis), our habit of speaking in movie quotes, and our love for trying new things together. Through life’s highs and lows, we’ve learned to choose each other again and again. Along the way, we were blessed with our greatest joy—our son, August, who keeps us laughing, grounded, and on our toes. The Proposal On October 11, 2025, our story took a big step forward in her hometown of New Orleans. What started as a normal day at Gentilly Fest quickly turned into something unforgettable. Surrounded by family, friends, and the energy of the city she loves, one of us decided it was the perfect time to make things official. Right there in the middle of it all—music playing, people watching, probably someone holding a plate of festival food—came the question that changed everything. And yes… she said yes.
