Should I rent a car?

Answer

Our weekend's wedding activities will be centrally located in the Oakland/Berkeley area. We encourage guests to use public transportation and Uber/Lyft for getting around, including traveling to/from the airport. A rental car would be useful if you have plans to travel beyond San Francisco and Berkeley/Oakland (Yosemite, Wine Country, etc.), however, please be mindful that parking can be expensive and you should not leave ANYTHING in your car (even in the trunk) as break-ins are increasingly common.

Is there public transportation?

Answer

Yes! Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) is a commuter train that can be used for traveling to/from SFO and OAK airports, as well as traveling between San Francisco and the East Bay (Oakland, Berkeley, etc.). https://www.bart.gov/

How's the weather, what should I wear?

Answer

Our reception will be outdoors. It is summer, but the Bay Area gets chilly as soon as the sun goes down. Plan to bring a jacket or sweater.

There is so much to explore within just a couple hours drive! We have wine country, Lake Tahoe, Point Reyes, Big Sur, various Redwood Forests, Yosemite, etc. Feel free to reach out to Ashley or Zach, happy to share recommendations and suggestions for trip itineraries.
