Zeb and Renee have rented a house from Thursday, June 20th thru Monday, June 24th in Brighton, UT. We also have plenty of space at our home in SLC before, during and after these dates if you'd like to spend more time in Salt Lake City. You're welcome to come and play for the weekend or for a week. We've provided many lodging options under the lodging section.
Plan for snow at Brighton, but not too far down the canyon it has already melted. There are many activities in Big Cottonwood Canyon including hiking/trail running, rock climbing, mountain biking, disc golf and fishing to name a few. There are dining options in the canyon, in town or drive over Guardsman Pass to Park City. Depending upon level of interest, we'll plan a group mountain bike ride down the Wasatch Crest Trail or into Park City with a shuttle return. Bring your gear if you want to climb, there are many single and multi pitch routes for all ability levels. Trails range from short easy lake walks to all day steep 5th class scrambles. We enjoy winding the day down with a round of disc golf at Solitude and a beer. If you feel like relaxing there are creeks and lakes to enjoy and Solitude Resort has a pool. In the evening we'll be hanging at the rental "cabin" or the lodge (Fri & Sat).
It will be late June at 8700 feet. Depending upon the snow year, expect lots of snow and maybe mud although most lower trails are snow free by then. Days are typically in the upper 60's and evenings could be in the 30's. There should be limited precipitation. Dress accordingly.
The main event(s) will be at the Wasatch Lodge Friday and Saturday evening. We'll plan dinner and libations for everyone both nights, the rest of the time you're on your own. The lodge has a kitchen so you can make breakfast and lunch there and keep food cold. Brighton has a small market with limited provisions. Brighton has some lunch options while Solitude and Silver Fork Lodge, just down from Solitude, have lunch and dinner options. Park City and Salt Lake are just 30 minutes away. Utah sells 4% ABV beer in the super markets but I recommend shopping at one of the many state run liquor stores for a great variety of beer, wine and liquor.
