Yay! We're getting married!

And falls in love with the guitar player! In 2018, I was living in Polokwane, South Africa as I was participating in the Fulbright Program and teaching at a rural school. On our mid-year holiday I was travelling to visit all around SA. My mom came to visit and we went to Cape Town and right after she left I flew to meet my roommate in Durban for a few days. Our friends who lived in Durban RAVED about this jazz bar in town. My roommate, Lara, and I were skeptical. The cover charge and lack of people are age nearly made us leave, but we stuck it out for the nice g&ts. A group of 60+ year olds ended up hanging out with us and one of them was sweet on Lara. After a few drinks, we were like ok let's get away from these old men and went to the other room to dance to the live band. And that's when I saw my sweet Mo. The handsome guitar player. I made awkward eye contact with him immediately and giggled about it with Lara. I looked like a true tourist with a fanny pack worn in an untrendy way and dancing ridiculously with Lara (not to mention we were the only ones on the dance floor and after several g&ts, I'm sure we looked like fools). During the band's break, Mo came up to me and said that he liked my fanny pack. I was shocked he was talking to me so I just awkwardly giggled. I thought I had blown my chance. As the bar was about to close, Lara and I were desperate for food and trying to decide where to go before heading back to our hostel. Mo overheard us talking and was like "Wouldn't you guys like a pizza from here?" We told him we had already tried that but the kitchen was closed. He was like "no worries I know the owner let me see what I can do." He disappeared for a little bit and returned with an avo pizza. Right then and there I knew I liked him. He took Lara and I back to our hostel and we made plans to meet at a market the next day. Over three years have passed since this happened. We are so excited to get married and celebrate with all of you!
