The easiest and most convenient, a 30-minute drive to Crested Butte. This is also the most costly option but sometimes balances out after rental care or ride rates.

A 1.5-hour drive to Crested Butte and often has more availability as this airport is served by more airlines, such as Southwest, and offers more rental car options. Summer construction may impact driving times.

Denver International Airport
Fly into Denver and rent a car for the 4.5-hour drive. There is also a bus called the Bustang for a 6-hour, WiFi-connected bus ride. The seats, however, are not reservable. Even if you purchase a ticket, it is first come first serve. Return times from Gunnison are early (like 5 AM early) We don’t recommend this but it is a cost-effective option.

Rental Cars in Gunnison
Rental Cars in Gunnison book early and often overbook. We do not have Uber or Lift in the area except for the occasional unicorn that pops up. We recommend grouping up with others or hiring Alpine Express or Dolly’s Mtn shuttle.
