Things To Do

Washington D.C has plenty to do, but below are a few of our favorite places, all Metro accessible or in walking distance to our campus. We've included churches for Sunday as well!

Boqueria Penn Quarter

777 9th Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20001
, (202) 552-3268

Right off the Chinatown Metro stop, this is a great Spanish restaurant! We recommend their brunch specials, but you can't go wrong by ordering the paella!

Ebenezers Coffeehouse

201 F Street Northeast, Washington, DC 20002
, (202) 558-6900

In walking distance from the Union Station Metro stop, this is a cute coffee shop in Capital Hill. Grab a lavender honey latte (trust us!) and walk to the Capital for a fun a day in the city!

National Portrait Gallery

8th St NW & G St NW, Washington, DC 20001
, (202) 633-8300

An underrated Smithsonian museum off the Chinatown Metro stop where portraits of each president are held. This museum is free and right next to Boqueria if you want to make a day out in the city!

Menomale

2711 12th Street Northeast, Washington, DC 20018
, (202) 248-3946

In walking distance of CUA, this restaurant has some of the best pizza in D.C. We recommend ordering the verde calzone.

Smithsonian's National Postal Museum

2 Massachusetts Avenue Northeast, Washington, DC 20002
, (202) 633-5555

Another great Smithsonian that is free! This museum has an amazing stamp collection and tells the history of the US postal service. It is off the Union Station Metro station and across the street from the Dubliner.

The Dew Drop Inn

2801 8th Street Northeast, Washington, DC 20017

This bar is in walking distance of CUA and has an outdoor seating area which is family friendly.

The Dubliner Restaurant

4 F Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20001
, (202) 737-3773

Right off the Union Station Metro stop, this Irish restaurant has great food and a great atmosphere.

Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception

400 Michigan Avenue Northeast, Washington, DC 20017
, (202) 526-8300

The Basilica is open from 6am-6pm for viewing. You can sign up for a tour or explore yourself, but either way we highly recommend seeing this church. They have Mass at 7:30am, 9am, 10:30am, 12pm and 4:30pm on Sundays.

Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land in America

1400 Quincy Street Northeast, Washington, DC 20017
, (202) 526-6800

The Monastery is open 9am-4pm everyday and has lovely gardens that are open for viewing. It is about a 20 minute walk from CUA and has a Traditional Latin Mass on Sunday at 9am that we attend every week.

For all the days along the way
