Question

What is the weather like to visit in November?

Answer

A popular opinion is that November is the best month to go to Tulum. The air is lighter, the water is clearer. It’s not that much cooler at 82 F (28 C), but the humidity is low, so you can breathe more easily.

Question

What's the wedding "dress code"?

Answer

It's a bit of a blend of Cocktail/Semi-Formal (A popular choice blending comfort and style. Women should wear a cocktail dress or dressy separates; men should wear a suit and tie.) Casual/Informal (Generally means relaxed but still respectful, such as a sundress, dressy skirt/top, or blazer with khakis. Avoid denim or shorts unless specified.) Festive/Theme (Similar to cocktail attire, but encourages bolder colors, fun accessories, and a celebratory feel.) It's tropical there but less humid in November. It can get chilly at night and the reception is outdoors. Because the cavern has stairs and a somewhat small opening, heels are not recommended. It's recommended to wear flats. Otherwise, maybe block heels or wedges is next safest.

Question

Do I need Dollars or Pesos?

Answer

It is recommended that you use pesos to get the best value and avoid fees for converting money with local businesses.

Question

Do I need a passport?

Answer

Yes, all international guests need a valid passport. Please ensure it does not expire within 6 months of your travel date.

Question

Do I need a car in Tulum?

Answer

Most visitors find that taxis, bicycles, or walking are sufficient within Tulum, especially if they are staying in the Hotel Zone or Centro. Keep in mind though, taxis can be expensive. We recommend vans for the wedding.

Question

What's the vibe like in November?

Answer

There are no spring break DJs or hurricanes. See Tulum Pueblo glow with candlelit altars, papel picado banners (designs cut from tissue paper), and face-painted parades on Día de los Muertos (November 1–2). There’s even a city-organized animas walk (spirit walk) with food stalls, music, and Mayan rituals. The Riviera Maya Jazz Festival is just up the coast in Playa del Carmen if you fancy a detour with a saxophone.

Question

Can I drink the water?

Answer

Stick to bottled or filtered water provided by the hotels and the wedding venue.

Question

How should I handle the sun and bugs?

Answer

Guests are encouraged to bring biodegradable sunscreen and insect repellent, as traditional chemicals can be harmful to the delicate cenote ecosystem.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Due to limited space, only guests listed on the invitation are invited.

Question

I have food allergies or dietary restrictions. Can you accomodate me?

Answer

Please let us know when you RSVP so we can inform the catering team!
