Things To Do

Presque Isle Park

Presque Isle Park

Peter White Drive, Marquette, MI 49855

Go to “the Island” (Presque Isle park) and check out the ore dock, break wall, sunset point, and some stunning views of Lake Superior. You can also get a sneak peak of the gazebo before the wedding ceremony!

Black Rocks

Black Rocks

2 Peter White Drive, Marquette, MI 49855

Don’t confuse this with the brewery in town called Black Rocks… or do! This is another attraction found at "the Island" where people jump from a huge rock into the water. It’s about a 10’ jump. Really safe to jump - just scary! Be sure whoever is doing it is a strong swimmer, though and watch where the locals climb back up.

Jilbert Dairy Inc

Jilbert Dairy Inc

200 Meeske Avenue, Marquette, MI 49855

Sit by a giant cow and eat ice cream (cherry amaretto mackinaw island fudge is Michael's favorite flavor).

Sugar Loaf Mountain

Sugar Loaf Mountain

Trailhead is near County Road 550 (CR 550), a few miles north of Marquette, MI, Marquette, MI 49855

A 20-30 minute hike to get a really pretty view of the lake. Difficult in the sense of elevation change but there is a clear path and stairs (in some spots) the whole way.

Ellwood A Mattson Lower Harbor Park

Ellwood A Mattson Lower Harbor Park

Nice park area near downtown with a playground for young children.

Beach

Three main beaches -- South beach, McCarty's cove, or near the Island.
