Our story might be considered the typical millennial love story, but we like to think it's a little more special than that. It all started at the end of Jess's senior year of high school. She was scrolling through her instagram per usual, when she stumbled on one of her sister's posts with a familiar name in the comments, "treklaitis." She had heard this name before, but it had been typically heard as "that Trinity baseball player from Sheboygan." After scrolling through Tanner's profile, Jess thought Tanner was pretty cute...okay REALLY cute, and decided to give him a follow. Hey, maybe with their mutual connection he'd be her first friend at Trinity, like a big brother? Tanner also recognized Jess's name, at least her last name because it was the same as his teammates girlfriend's (Jess's sister). He asked his teammate, Brett, if Jess was Sara's sister. Sure enough, she was, and Brett also added that "she could use a good guy." Tanner followed Jess back and the next few weeks only consisted of a few likes and a bold Facebook friend request by Jess. UNTIL one night as Jess was showing off her new laptop to her family, an unexpected Facebook message appeared. She bashfully slammed her laptop shut and hurried into another room to read what message Tanner could have possibly sent her. It read something like "Hey Jess, so I'm pretty embarrassed to be doing this over Facebook right now, but would you like to get coffee sometime this summer?" IS THIS REAL LIFE? There is no way Tanner would like Jess... she eagerly responded "I'd love to!" and "coffee sometime this summer" turned into three days later at Paradigm Coffeehouse in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. About two and half years later, on April 21st, 2018 with the same eagerness and excitement, Jess accepted Tanner's proposal at her Grandpas Lake house after an entire day of events and romantic surprises strategically planned by Tanner and helped by her family and friends. 12.29.18 here we come!
