We had planned an extended weekend getaway for our third-year dating anniversary. We booked an Airbnb in Napa, California, and planned a whole weekend of a hot-air balloon ride and tastings at several wineries. We had even scheduled dinner reservations at a Steakhouse! It was too set up and easy for JC ;). We had scheduled the hot-air balloon group ride for the morning of our anniversary. We were supposed to be at the meeting site around 6am, but JC was up and ready around 5am long before we needed to be there! When we got to the meeting site Carrie could tell JC was acting nervous and a little off, but just thought he was maybe scared about the anticipation of the ride and the heights! We drove to the launch site and had clear instructions that there wasn't a lot of time before we needed to be in the basket and in the air, so we needed to quickly go towards the basket and be ready. When we got to the site the entire group headed towards the basket, and Carrie did too, not realizing that JC was holding back a little awkwardly on his own. Carrie turned around to wave him along and saw JC talking with a couple of the hot air balloon employees and another guy with a camera. Before she knew it JC came up and got on one knee! It was the sweetest thing ever and it all was caught on camera with a hot air balloon blowing up in the background ready for our ride. What more could a gal ask for :). After our ride we had a champagne brunch and the hot air balloon employees gifted us some photos from the ride. We called our families to tell them the news, then relaxed the rest of the day at wineries before going to our dinner reservations. It was the best day, and best anniversary present, one neither one of us will ever forget. We can’t wait for you to join us for the celebration of our marriage together!
