We strongly recommend attending a Cirque du Soleil performance while in town – it is a quintessential Las Vegas experience! Our favorite show is "O" at the Bellagio. We also recommend Mystère (Treasure Island), Michael Jackson ONE (Mandalay Bay) and KÀ (MGM Grand). This would be a great way to spend your Friday night following the welcome party.
This is often our first stop after dropping our bags at the hotel. We recommend heading straight to Fat Tuesday to secure a frozen daiquiri. Stick around for "The Fall of Atlantis," a free kitschy animatronic show at the fountain (runs every hour, on the hour) before continuing your shopping through the Forum Shops.
Fremont Street is a historic downtown Las Vegas street known for the Fremont Street Experience, a five-block pedestrian mall featuring a canopy of lights, free live entertainment on multiple stages, iconic casinos, and attractions like the SlotZilla zip line. It is the city's original entertainment district, offering a vintage Vegas feel combined with modern-day fun and nightlife. This would be the perfect place to pregame the reception on Saturday as it's a short walk from Commonwealth. We love playing video poker or betting on college football in the world's largest sports betting experience – the sports book at Circa. Circa also has a rooftop cocktail lounge, The Legacy Club, that would make the perfect pre-reception cocktail spot.
Founded in 1996, The Neon Museum is a non-profit learning institution that utilizes iconic neon signs to share Las Vegas art, culture and history with the world. The Neon Museum's "Neon Boneyard" contains more than 250 unrestored signs which are illuminated with ground lighting as well as 28 restored signs which are on all the time. We recommend visiting during the daytime to maximize the signs and details you can see.
The Arts District, or 18b, is a vibrant cultural hub packed with indie art galleries, vintage shops and performance spaces in converted warehouses. If you want to see a more relaxed side of Vegas, we recommend exploring the Arts District in the late morning and later grabbing lunch at Esther's Kitchen (order the homemade sourdough bread & spreads – it's served warm from the oven).
