See ReiAnne Ugly Cry here!
Benjamin and ReiAnne both started working at Starbucks when they needed a job while they re-considered what their next big move, neither realized that this very company would help lay down a career path but also lay down the path to meet each other. Benjamin's development into a store manager was quick and after a couple years he ended up managing a store in the same district (small group of stores in an area) that that ReiAnne was a supervisor in. At one point in time Benjamin was ReiAnne's temporary manager (she doesn't like to talk about that) but their love story didn't begin until a couple years later when she became a store manager herself. Ben was her mentor when she was working through the transition from a supervisor to running her own store and managing her own team. He helped her problem solve many questions/issues that arose (he even remained patient and almost judgement free when her inability to process math calculations/equations accurately resulted in ordering 8 days of breakfast sandwiches to be delivered), and somewhere between all the repeated explanations and happy hours with peers, they fell in love. Fun fact, turns out, they'd been living in each others' orbit for up to a decade before even meeting, living miles from each other during college, frequenting the same places and going down a very similar path of reckless decisions but not meeting for many years after. Fast forward to pretty much two years after they started dating, Benjamin and ReiAnne were in New York and they made a trip to the Starbucks Roastery in Chelsea on their third day and he surprised her with a proposal to marry him! He had gotten the help from the director of operations and the entire team of baristas, to surprise ReiAnne with an unforgettable (and VERY public) proposal - See video above. ReiAnne knew he'd be proposing soon, since they went together to the jeweler to use her late one of mothers' diamonds for her engagement ring, but she wasn't expecting him to propose the way he did. ReiAnne thought they got reserved seats at the Experience Bar along with a hand delivered Espresso Martini Flight by the director of operations because she told her and the greeting barista that they were both store managers visiting from Phoenix. Turns out it was not because they were store manager from Phoenix! Benjamin had pre-planned everything with the director and snuck the ring to her upon entry, knowing it would be easy to do since ReiAnne is easily distracted and finds an innocent joy in new places and experiences. Benjamin and ReiAnne are getting married in a small, private ceremony with their parents and siblings (and their spouses) on March 19, 2024 at the Japanese Friendship Gardens. Choosing this venue for their ceremony is one of the many ways that she will be honoring her late mother, Gail Reese. The reception is on March 23rd in Desert Mountain in Scottsdale, AZ where they will celebrate with family, friends, and a large group of Starbucks employees. We're hoping this page gives some insight on what's to come the week of their nuptials along with some other information on our non-traditional wedding!
