Things To Do

You'll likely have downtime throughout the weekend to explore the area. Here are some ideas.

Shenandoah National Park

3655 US Highway 211 East, Luray, VA
, (540) 999-3500

There are plenty of day hikes in Shenandoah not far from Luray or Shenandoah Woods. It costs $30 to enter the park in a vehicle or $15 to enter on a bike. National park passes also accepted. Passes are good for 7 days. The closest entrances are Thornton Gap and Swift Run Gap. There are numerous hikes appropriate for all levels in this part of Shenandoah. Check out maps for the North District if entering through Thornton Gap and the Central District if entering through Swift Run to see what's nearby.

Wisteria Farm and Vineyard

1126 Marksville Road, Stanley, VA 22851
, (540) 742-1489

Located just a few miles from Shenandoah Woods, Wisteria Vineyard is an easy trip from the venue. The tasting room is on a farm. Visitors are welcome to explore the farm and enjoy a glass of wine anywhere in their extensive outdoor seating.

Hawksbill Brewing Company

Great selection of beers and family-friendly.

Luray Caverns

Cave Hill Road, Luray, VA 22835

Luray Caverns is the largest cavern on the East Coast, with cave formations that sing and cavernous rooms as large as 10 stories high.

Washington

Washington, DC

If you have a flexible schedule and have never visited Washington, DC- there is no better time than spring. Free museums and monuments would make an excellent addition to your getaway. If you'll be around DC before the wedding, let the bride and groom know- we'd love to see you!
