South Yuba River Bridge
The Yuba River is Regan's favorite place! Whether it's to hike for miles, bathe in the sun on a rock like a lizard, swim in clear water or just for a pretty drive ... the Yuba River is the place to be! Jacob and Regan try to visit the Yuba River every time they are in Nevada City. There are multiple ways to access the river. We recommend the Highway 49 Bridge or Bridgeport.
Empire Mine State Historic Park
This is a beautiful, historic site in Grass Valley. Jacob and Regan took some special photos here the day after they got engaged. This is an important site for the area full of gold mining history. You can see how the gold miners lived and sit in a mining cart. We recommend going here for an afternoon stroll.
BrewHaus
David Heppe's top recommendation for your trip is a visit to BrewHaus. They brew their own beer and make a mean braut. It's located in downtown Nevada City so you can adventure around the town before or after your visit.
Angkula Seo Suspension Bridge
If you're interested in a shorter nature walk near downtown Nevada City. We highly recommend stopping to see the Suspension Bridge. The 0.5 trail takes you meandering through pines and oaks down to a bridge that spans over a beautiful creek. There are miles to continue hiking if you are in for a good walk too!
Treats
The best ice cream in Nevada City. They handmake most of their flavors or source them from Norther California. Regan's favorite flavor is raspberry chip and Jacob's favorite flavor is cookies and cream.
Holbrooke Hotel
The Holbrooke hotel is a lovely (newly renovated) historic building as a place to stay, grab a bite to eat, or a fun cocktail. Located on the main strip in Grass Valley.
Nevada County Country Club
If you're looking for a fun activity to do the Nevada County Golf Course is a 9-hole course where Mr. Heppe spends (almost) every afternoon.
Scotts Flat Reservoir
This lake is a fun spot to visit! You could rent kayaks or paddle boards from Mountain Recreation (a store in Grass Valley) and launch them for a blissful afternoon on the water.
