We met online in 2015. Our first date took us from happy hour to a stroll along the beach, and then the Redondo Fun Factory where Tom revealed his last name by showing Christie a headstone engraved "Reed" (which what the heck was that doing there? it recently sold for $25 in auction and Tom is super sad he wasn't the buyer). Christie immediately fell for Tom's fun-seeking demeanor and his gleaming smile and always tries to keep those pearly whites shining. Tom tries on the daily to hear Christie's laughter, which is never in short supply. Over the last 4.5 years, we've established a deep, best kind of friendship through Disneyland trips, AYCE adventures, countless game and trivia nights, and through our love for each others' families and values. In October 2018, we took a weekend trip to Palm Springs during which Tom sneakily let Christie believe it was her idea to take an aerial tram to the top of Mt. San Jacinto, where Tom had been planning to propose all along. Christie was distracted with taking panoramic photos of the fog rolling in when, upon finishing her photo, she found Tom holding open a ring box. OF COURSE SHE SAID YES!! We naively thought setting a date for some 16 some-odd months later would be plenty of time, but it's been an exhausting and parabolic and at every turn oh-so magical whirlwind of wedding planning, new adventures, and a deeper relationship than either of us had ever hoped to find. After a honeymoon in Vietnam, we plan to build our new future together in Long Beach, CA. xo
